N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Did we locate Coombe Wood? in the familiar script again and all same date. I see that as well as the numerous Coombe woods given on Streetmap, there's one in Surrey - would C latifolia grow there though? http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/284401/

I can see six Coombe Woods in Streetmap! Plus a Coombe Wood Farm in Devon that loses an O on the way from OS 50,000 to 25,000. Then, as you say, there's Coombe Wood at OS TQ346642 which appears to be on the side of the chalk hills in the area west of Croydon along Coombe Road/Lane.
I don't think we can resolve this naming problem yet!

For interest
Coombe Wood was a 'favourite' for outings of the Croydon Natural History and Scientific Society over the years e.g.

The site was part of the large Coombe estate, including woods and commonland, privately owned until the mid C20th.

This 'extremely skilful' rockery would perhaps be the source of such varied plants, including this unusual occurrence

The 'skilful imitation of natural rockwork' seems to have been in Pulhamite. See The Story of Pulhamite Rockwork, and Croydon Council Coombe Wood leaflet [pdf]. Perhaps all specimens from this artificial environment should be considered 'cultivated'.
