BIRM has a sheet of Mertensia maritima Vc 52 stated to have been collected by A O Hulme whose name appears thus in the index of collectors.
He is in fact Allan Octavian Hume 1829 - 1912, Indian Civil Servant, "Father of Indian Ornithology", collaborator with F H Davey on the 'Flora of Cornwall' (1909) and founder of the South London Botanical Institute. |
