N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

'1280' written in pencil on label, below '650'. Which is correct collector's number?

650. However Marshall is one of only a few people who regularly number specimens; more usually they are catalogue or curators' numbers and are irrelevant, as per the second number, which characteristically is in pencil and a different handwriting. Numbers below about 1500 are frequently catalogue numbers.
