I looked at Sherrin's specimens for the period August to October 1897 and wonder whether he may have intended 'S W' (also written S-W) to mean South Wimbledon.

2 such are labelled 'NHM' which made me think Nat Hist Museum eg http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/312898/?image of 6/1899

For interest

Up until 1895, he ran a taxidermy shop in Ramsgate.
Then, he became an articulator in the Zoology Dept of BM - now NHM
in 1919 - he went part time in order to work as Curator at SLBI (mornings at Museum, afternoons at SLBI)
1928 he transferred to the Botany Dept (to work on Mosses)
stayed i/c moss collection until 1947
