In the Register of Repton School, Francis Morland Day (1890-1962) appears as a pupil 1904-1909, and is recorded as having obtained a BA from Cambridge, 1912, and MA, 1916. Afterwards he was an assistant schoolmaster at Uppingham and Nevill Holt Schools, Leicestershire, and The Downs School, Colwall, Herefordshire. The Register also gives the address 'The Goat House, Horsepool, Brixham, Devon'. Day seems to have collected in both Hereford and Devon during the 1930s and 1940s so perhaps the Devon address is that of a relative. On sheet 377782 AL Still implies that Day knew the house well when he comments about a mint specimen gathered in the garden, "I suppose you know how it got into the garden!"
