Olga Margaret Stewart née Mounsey (1920-1998), botanist and botanical artist, married Frank Stewart in 1946. Her obituary, (Watsonia 22 (1999), 443-449 [pdf]) says they had four children, Rosemary, Alan, John and Nick, "the last of whom, having graduated in Geology at Cambridge, followed in her footsteps and is now a professional botanist in his own right".
At the moment the h@h database has 20 specimens collected by Olga Margaret Stewart, one collected with F J Stewart, and 10 with Nicholas F Stewart.
Nicholas F Stewart has 167 specimens collected by him in h@h, 1980-1991, plus one dated 1894 (Perth Museum & Art Gallery, no image, but probably a transcription error). As determiner he has 468 specimens, including a large number in the Perth collection dated up to 1914.
Perhaps it is safe to assume that Olga, F J, and Nicholas F, Stewart, were wife, husband and son.
Note: Olga used her initials 'OS' as a prefix to her collector number on labels, which may lead to confusion with Ordnance Survey grid references! |
