Apparently not recognised separately from C otrubae until 1939, this taxon is not recorded in VC47 on the BSBI Distribution Database.

Hi Sarah,

can these be redetermined from the sheet photos, or does someone need to look at the specimens at the BM, or is it safe to assume that the VC47 C. vulpina are all really otrubae?

My feeling is that they can't be determined from the photos, but that they should be looked at, as the distribution of C vulpina is so limited. "...local in SE England, Oxon, Glos and SE and NE Yorks: " [Jermy et al, 2007]
But you are probably right, that they could all be re-determined as C otrubae.
