I regret to report that Keith Barnett died in August.

Keith joined herbaria@home in 2006 soon after the project was first announced in BSBI news. Over the following five years he contributed prolifically, documenting or reviewing 10 000 specimens. He paid close attention to details and brought to bear his considerable botanical expertise and in particular his in-depth knowledge of the flora and geography of Worcestershire.

In the early days of the project he was also one of the few people happy to identify and report problems, which he pursued tenaciously. Though I sometimes dreaded opening emails that would usually identify yet more new software faults, the effort, patience and courtesy with which he reported and pursued bugs was invaluable and probably went under-appreciated.

Keith will be missed.
