N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Is there any significance that this and other Viola hybrid specimens, raised and gathered this date by Beeby, 'Hort. Thames Ditton', should be marked 'Educavit'?

educavit = raised by; so one infers that Beeby raised these spmns from seed.

Thanks! Beeby clearly had an interest in the Viola genus, and forthright opinions on hybrids: ON SOME BRITISH VIOLA FORMS (1892. J. Botany v. 30. p. 67-68.) and ON NATURAL HYBRIDS (1892. J. Botany v. 30. p. 209-212.).
