I haven't worked out where to see handwriting specimens; can you advise? I don't know if this is West's handwriting; but he collected in Lickey in that year.

I am no expert on handwriting. I normally look for other specimens by the same person, in the same time bracket. (It takes ages) However, most of Prof G S West's specimens seem to have been written up by Wm West.
