N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

legibility problems with 2nd specimen re date & collectors - dates & handwriting are a poor match; though Syme & Baker have to be the most likely suspects.

Thanks, you make it seem so simple....I have amended the entry. Nick.

The names are Syme & Baker written in Baker's hand, but Baker could not have been a collector in 1841 (aged 7 years) so it must be ex herb Baker.

There were boats from Scotland (Ardrossan) to Fleetwood in the 1840s before trains over Shap. Likely that Syme used this route and picked specimen up whilst waiting for boat!
