County box on input form

I don't know if it is just my slow old computer, but if I have to change the county I often get a frozen frame. I thought it was because I had changed the place name without changing the county, but it seems to happen when both boxes are empty. Worst case means I have to re-start the computer!

Sorry not to reply sooner, I only just spotted your message.

I'd not heard of problems with the regions list before - but this is definitely something that needs to be fixed - the doc-form definitely shouldn't be crashing web browsers.

What browser version and operating system are you using? (the page should work with any recent-ish browser, but this info may help me track down the problem).

I've made some minor changes to the software to see if I can stop the problem but I doubt anything I've just done will have helped. (among other things the list of regions was being re-downloaded frequently rather than being stored on your computer)

I have only just picked up your reply.
Things seem to have got better, thank you - I thought it was going to happen today but tho' it took a moment, the drop-down county list did go away when I was changing from the default county.
BTW I am on Windows XP and IE7.
Chris Liffen thinks my computer is working at its limits!

Tom,
This frame-freezing is still happening. I hav just had to edit a mistake of mine from Frimley Surrey (with a grid ref.) to Fawley, Herefords. I deleted the grid ref first then the county and the drop-down list appeared. It then "hangs" for quite a while until it frees up again so that I can close the box.

I made a further change two days ago which may have improved things slightly (still not very optimistic that I've got there yet).
