N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I believe all the specimens from 3/5/1876 are from Millbrook in Beds. It was Hillhouse's patch and all the sources for Hants are copied by BIRM. Also there are specs from Aspley Wood, Beds for the same day! see http://herbariaunited.org/specimensearch/?taxon=&taxonid=&collector=Prof+William+Hillhouse&colid=17596&role=prov&from=3/5/1876&to=3/5/1876&search=search&Country=gbie&VC=all&place=&placeid=&Inst=all&search=search#searchlist

Looks like your are right Millbrook: is a suburb of Southampton which:

" In 1954 the boundaries of Southampton were extended to include Millbrook, Redbridge, Harefield and part of Thornhill. From the mid 1950's a huge programme of council housing began on the eastern and western outskirts of the town. at Millbrook, Thornhill and Harefield. Also at this time many slums were demolished in parts of Chapel Northam, Chapel, Shirley and Bitterne."

As another Hillhouse specimen's typed label for that date at
http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/275499/

details "Millbrook Wood" near Southampton - I guess the wood is now under the housing estates at / near SU3813.

Just seen Sarah's post and changed my mind - While there doesn't seem to be an Asply wood (or permutations of that) near Southampton or a Millbrook near Aspley Guise Beds, "Asply" is a lot rarer than either "Mills" "Brooks" and "Millbrooks" so reckon Bedfordshire is the better bet for Hillhouse to be on that date!
