- Despite Ley's recording of this & other specimens from here as hybrid, M A H has determined as crispus; however thee are mixed simple & serrate valves. The original label which by comparison with other sheets would very likely have been inscribed 'R pratensis' (= crispus x obtusifolius), has been removed; but was it M A H who added 'hybrid' in blue ink? Ley did well to gather this at Tintern without sliding down the treacherous banks!
