Identifying the possible site is proving tricky. Not helped by so many Mason specimens not naming the collector. There are no other PBM sheets from Herefordshire. The specimen of the link above is from Seal Wood, county not specified. There is a Seal Wood in West Kent. The only other specimen from that county is an anonymous one from Tunbridge Wells. There are 4 Mason specimens from East Kent, collected by W Garneys.

I think the Buckenhill name is a red herring (curator?) I have looked for Buchan Hill which was Mason's original name for the site. There are two, one in W Sussex and one in Kirkudbrightshire but in neither county do we have any records for Mason yet. It would seem safer not to put a location in?

This has been a tricky one. I agree, Mason's label reads Buchan Hill, not Buckenhill; but I can't see a Seal Wood there; and I think the two specimens on the sheets must be from different locations, one being perhaps Seal Chart Wood in Kent TQ554565 from where Mason collected other specimens - handwriting not his though?
