Edit history
N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

- Maria Gosling, born 9/1845, was a pupil at the School instituted by J S Henslow at Hitcham, in the face of hostility of local farmers. He successfully taught botany on scientific principles and aimed to turn out pupils who could venture into employment other than as agricultural labourers. Maria was appointed as a pupil teacher at Eye, she later became a nurse domestic servant in Colchester, but further details not yet found. Amongst a multitude of other activities, Henslow engaged his pupils in compiling herbarium specimens for distribution to other botanists, of which this would be one.
