N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

not sure why the 'menu' wants to put Mallwyd in Montgomeryshire

From memory Ley also recorded from "Mallwyd, Monts" and the area is very close to the border. I have tried to unravel the records but it is too vague. I agree it is surely safer to put both counties?

My own feeling tends to be that Ley was faultlessly accurate on his vice-counties. Also if the menu gives Mallwyd Monts, then logically it would definitely give Merioneth which is the basic location (sorry, not meaning to make an issue re trivia, just thought it was interesting)
