N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I have not included any information from the cutting which is attached to this specimen. What should be the correct procedure?

hi Ann

I would be inclined to add to the record (in the notes field) a simple comment that such a slip, taken from a publication and referring specifically to this collection, has been attached to the sheet; the fact that a specimen is cited in a publication adds to its significance

this is probably from the Botanical Exchange Club Report for that year

hope this helps

best wishes

The location details are confusing in this case. The original label gives 'In Cwm Bwchan, neighbourhood of Barmouth' and the Report cutting 'the outlet of Cwm Bwchan lake near Harlech' (both Merionethshire, not near each other). The former is dated 18/7/1879, the latter 18/9/1979 - are there misprints involved in the Report? (which would be very unusual). I can't identify the Barmouth site - Llyn Cwm Bychan (lake of the little valley) is due east of Harlech. I've always been curious about Bailey's method of producing his printed labels - maybe he filled in the blanks on a Barmouth label. and for expedience showed some economy with the truth - which again would be very unusual for him.
