Tom, what makes you think this is Brian Hopkins? all the other sheets for Brain Hopkins date from the 1950s. In the BSBI year book 1952 B. Hopkins was a junior member. I assume this is the B.H. of the 1950s specimens.

You're quite right. I evidently made a poor job of reviewing that sheet (missing both the problem with the date and Hopkins id).

Born in Pennington, Lancashire.
Married in 1860 - Cheshire
in 1861 was living in Bath (with John W Hopkins)
in 1881 was living at Cambrian Crescent, Chester (widowed)
in 1891 was living at Queen Street Chester with two servants (Own means of support).
