N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

This is in Monmouthshire according to maps; but is an area Ley understood to be an outlier of Herefordshire, no doubt correctly - the sheets from this area, eg Pont Esgob, Ffwddog, have been edited as Herefordshire. See: http://herbariaunited.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6460 Partrishow is in modern Brecs, and Ty-mawr on my old map and the OS is just to the north in Mons, at SO281231

A detached portion or exclave of Herefordshire was known as the Ffwddog (or Fwthog) and included the valley of the river Grwyne Fawr. Between the Ffwddog and Herefordshire proper lies the Llanthony (river Honddu) Valley which is in Monmouthshire. Ley included both the Ffwddog and (for reasons of expediency) the Llanthony Valley in his Flora of Herefordshire (Purchas & Ley).

For administrative purposes the Ffwddog was transferred to Monmouthshire in 1891. Today the river Grwyne Fawr forms the administrative boundary between the local government area of so-called "Monmouthshire" and the Brecknock District of Powys (so dividing the Ffwddog).

In Watsonian terms the river Grwyne Fawr divides vc42 Breconshire (to the west) from vc35 Monmouthshire (to the east). In oldnick's note Partrishow is in vc42 and Ty Mawr in vc35.

This is a perennial topic of conversation; see http://herbariaunited.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1403
