Biography
Robert Maulkin LINGWOOD, MA FLS FGS(1813–2 June 1887)
Botanist and entomologist. Married his first cousin Elizabeth
Lingwood, daughter of Benjamin Lingwood.
Studied at Christ's College Cambridge.
BA Cantab 1836
MA 1840.
1838 living at Sufton Court, Mordiford, Herefordshire.
In Channel Islands and in Ireland with C.C. Babington, 1837.
FLS 1839.
High Sheriff of Herefordshire 1848
1860 he became Deputy Lord Lieutenant of the County.
Died 2 June 1887 at Lystone House, Llanwarne. Buried in Leckhampton churchyard.
Found Fumaria densiflora (W.A.Clarke First Rec. Br. Flowering Plants 1897, 8. B.C.G. Newsletter v.2(9), 1981, 418).
